ACNE: Is It Easier to Treat than You Think it is?
Do you know what the largest organ in your body is? It’s your skin! Your skin is a living, breathing organ that serves many functions. It’s helps to eliminate toxins (one of the main factors that contributes to acne!), it also regulates your body temperature (that’s why you sweat–air conditioning!), and it protects you from harmful invaders.
Your skin is sensitive to it’s environment. Give it what it needs and it will look health and vibrant. Abuse it and you’ll suffer a host of problems, including acne.
On the other hand, by constantly doing the following, you are weakening the natural protecting capabilities of your skin, you are slowing the healing process of your skin, and are making your skin look bad and making your acne worse:
Smoking. Smoking causes heart disease, cancer and the thinning of your skin. Your skin has to have blood flow to cleanse the toxins that cause acne. smoking will reduce your physical activity (exercise) which you need in order to be healthy and fit. In many ways, smoking CAUSES acne!
TOPICAL STEROIDS: OTC and prescription cortisone creams can be very potent and they can also cause thinning of your skin. They can cause redness and irritation , and other side effects. Cortisone creams address the some of the SYMPTOMS of acne but they do nothing to help with the CAUSES of acne. Just like taking an antacid does nothing to change the spicy food in your stomach, cortisones can mask symptoms instead of eliminating the causes. Try a natural substance like diluted tea tree oil, instead.
Antibiotics: Antibiotic treatments like tetracycline can aggravate acne and also damage your internal “flora” as well. Antibiotics destroy all the bacteria in your system including the good, probiotic bacteria like acidophilus that have many important characteristics that promote clear skin. The “good bacteria” that live inside your digestive tract protect you from parasites and fungi. They can also stress and damage your liver, one of the most important organs responsible for the healing of your skin.
Four-In-One-Blades. During an active case of acne, you need to be gentle to your skin. Unfortunately, frustration and self-loathing due to acne can cause us to treat our skin rougher than we should. Using four blades instead of a single blade cartridge can cause severe irritation and, by slicing the “head” off a cyst, expose it to infection and scabbing.
Four-in-Ones can cause permanent scarring if used improperly. If you have bumps, scabs (from squeezing), or cysts, use a single-blade cartridge.
PICKING, POPPING, AND SQUEEZING: In a word, DON’T! While it may be gratifying (like “popping” your knuckles) it will make your acne worse. You run the risk of pushing the pus deeper into the pore and prolonging your acne which will aggravate and prolong your condition. Squeezing zits can also lead to permanent scarring. You have to ask yourself, “do I want to get rid of this whitehead right now, or do I want to have a scar on my face for the rest of my life?” sometimes, it’s not an easy decision to make.
EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF VITAMIN A: Vitamin A from natural sources (green leafy vegetables and beta carotene fruit and veggies) and in small quantities can significantly enhance the healing process of your skin but when taken excessively it can seriously damage your liver and cause severe health problems and side effects.
STEROID CREAMS FOR ROSACEA. It’s just common sense that you should avoid using preparations that cause redness and swelling on rosacea. Always consult a skin-care professional before using steroid creams on rosacea.
When you are suffering from acne, it’s an indication that one or more of your bodies systems are not operating as they should. Acne is an indication that you need to re-evaluate your lifestyle. Rather than slapping some of the latest potion on your acne, take it as an opportunity to consider how you can change your lifestyle so you can be more healthy and vibrant.
Yes there really is a natural treatment for acne and zits. Before you spend another day suffering and before you spend another PENNY on acne medicines, visit TreatmentForAcneAndZits.com for news and ideas that can help.

I initially discovered this article as I was browsing for cancer facts for an article I am writing. I had no idea, actually, that there were such a great number of health issues out there that people are struggling with! Thank you very much for the good quality information.

I lived with acne a couple of years ago. The very best remedy that aided me was aloe. Simply just apply aloe on the facial area. It truly helps.
